Swissnex’s goal is to promote Switzerland’s excellence as one of the world’s leading countries in the fields of innovation, research, technology and higher education, to connect academia and business and to facilitate cooperation between the two countries.
2013 will stay as a unique year in the history of the relationship between Switzerland and China. The signature of the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries was certainly the highlight of the political and economic agenda, but the year also saw the visit of 5 Federal Councillors and 3 State Secretaries. Our key topics of Education, Research and Innovation were very high on the agenda of these visits. We saw the swissnex community grow fast with many alumni of Swiss universities joining our events and offering their help. And we know that the interest in China for the Swiss excellence in science and technology will not subside in coming years!
The swissnex Chinese New Year Gathering was a great success! In the afternoon we had the opportunity to meet innovators in their fields: sound and media artists and young entrepreneurs gave the audience an interesting opportunity for discussions. In the evening swissnex China’s office space was tested to its limits. Around 100 people stopped by to celebrate with us. The dance performance from Liu Yanan heralded the year of the snake. A tea ceremony and a music performance from Cathy (Pro Helvetia) gave the evening a special note. Read more…
